Exams & Cleaning

Regular exams and cleanings are just as important for children as they are for adults, if not more so. Our excellent hygienists are thoroughly trained to make children feel comfortable. And we use the latest digital dentistry technology to safely and accurately diagnose any problems so they can be addressed quickly.

sealants

Sealants

Tooth sealants are a simple and painless tooth protection painted on back teeth. They help avoid fillings or crowns later on. Young children should get sealants placed on their permanent molars as soon as the teeth come in, usually between 5 and 7 years of age. 12 year molars may require sealant as well when the child is between 11 and 14.

Fluoride Treatments

Bacteria and sugars can attack teeth and cause decay. Fluoride can help prevent and even reverse decay by making the tooth more resistant to acids found in plaque. When teeth don’t receive enough fluoride through everyday diet and the use of fluoridated toothpaste, your dentist can apply fluoride directly to the teeth as a gel, foam, or varnish.

Braces

Braces are less noticeable and more comfortable than ever before, and advances in technology have decreased treatment time. Our orthodontists are members of the American Association of Orthodontists and the American Dental Association, and are uniquely qualified to work with our pediatric dentists as a team to ensure the best orthodontic treatment for your child.

Invisalign

Dental Associates is an Invisalign Elite Top 1% National Provider. We’re the largest Invisalign provider in CT as well; no one in the state has more experience using Invisalign to help patients obtain great smiles. Invisalign is a great option for teens, not just because they are invisible, but also because they work more efficiently to move the teeth in a more pain-free way.
